The Speaker
Benue State House of Assembly
Makurdi
Benue State.
Dear Sir,
THE NEED TO PROPERLY QUIZ BENUE'S LOOTING TRIO

1) We of the above group hereby write to appreciate you and your noble house in its gallant strides towards ensuring accountability and people oriented stewardship.
2) As a group of Benue indegenes interested in the well being of the state and it's proper functionality,  we are impressed with your recent interest in the financial standing of the state and her revenue.
3) It is common knowledge that civil servants in the state have not been paid salaries for over six months, just as pensioners have not seen any pay either.
4) Your recent request for the state's financial position and inquest into then cause of non-payment of salaries and emoluments,  is the crux of this letter.
5) Benue state has been proven to be able to generate atleast 1 billion Naira monthly as Internal Revenue however,  this monies have all of a sudden become a herculean task which was before now a constant figure (even though it was contestable), as it is widely knowledge that it claims to barely recoup over 300 million naira only.
6) The Federation Account, we have also been told that the state receives an average of atleast 2.6 billion Naira monthly as share.
7) We have also noticed that the state, even after negotiating a minimum wage scale of 18% with workers and is unable to keep their word reduced it to an abysmal sum still owes workers and pensioners even as students' bursary has become a privilege.
8) Also observed is the fact that certain individuals have grown fat of these sums while the state continues to suffer in penury.
9) We hereby write to demand as follows:
That the Commissioner of Finance, Mr. Omandachi Oklobia be properly queried on the following matters concerning state finance:
1) How he spent the state's 7 billion Naira meant for purchase of vehicles
2) How he was able to get Peugeot Produce brand new 406 cars when that line of production had been closed since 2003.
3) How he has been able to acquire so many choice properties in Abuja and Makurdi with exquisite cars parked therein.
4) How a grade 9 civil servant with the Budget office is able to dole out car gifts and own so much.
That Prince Solomon Wombo be also asked to explain:
1) What happens to the monthly 2.6 billion Naira which comes to the state.
2) How come his personal assistants have been able to live higher than a permanent secretary even when the state civil servants are being owed.
3) The source of his recent wealth and magnanimous spending capacity.
The Chairman of the Benue Internal Revenue Service ( BIRS ),  Mr. Gabriel Asen be interrogated in this light:
1) A detailed account of the revenue generation of the state monthly.
2) Give reasons for the acclaimed fall in revenue returns.
3) Explain for the role of the state commissioner for Finance in the affairs of the Service as regards financial engagements.
9. We however believe and are hope full that these and those questions you have lined up for the above are properly answered to return the state to its proper financial standing.
10. It is also our utmost desire that this inquisition does not just end as a question and answer session but culprits be adequately punished to act as deterrent to others.
Thank you sir.
Yours Faithfully,

Melvin Agaba                                                                          Bem Ismaila
