Akume and 30 Pieces of Silver

Christians around the world are familiar with the story of Jesus' betrayal by his own disciple, Judaism Ischariot, who went to the high priests in the middle of the night and betrayed his master for thirty pieces of silver and a kiss as the betrayal sign.
The story may be seen by many as another fable or folk tale however it is seen it's import is never changing that the ones who you trust most are those who will someday betray you and many times for little stipends.
Sen. George Akume
The Senate Minority Leader,  Sen. George Akume,  has become a Judas Ischariot of some sort as he has embarked on placing price tags on any and all the party's tickets in the on going party primaries in the state, doling out party slots to the highest bidder.
Only on the 7th December 2014,  a serving senator under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ), was sold a the a senate slot for the sum of Fifty Million Naira, even as the same senator had been Akume's sworn enemy for the past sixteen years.
Akume whose party already had three contenders for the senate invited Senator Barnabas Gemade,  who lost his party's ticket to Governor Gabriel Suswam in the PDP,  to come and attend his bazaar where the only requirement to the party hierarchy's support was the highest bidder.
Gemade a wise businessman, aware of his auctioneer's schemes did not decamp from
Sen. Barnabas Gemade
his party but stayed on in the PDP while Akume and his goons filled and submitted his form for him. The services and party ticket were signed, sealed and delivered to Gemade at the venue of the elections in Katsina-Ala,  for the sum of 50 Million Naira.
Same story played when the former minister of state for Trade and Investment,  Chief Samuel Ortom,  lost his acclaimed God ordained PDP ticket, to Suswam's anointed, Rt. Hon.  Terhemen Tarzoor.  Immediately Tarzoor defeated Ortom, Akume got his act in place, sent his con spinners to invite Ortom who had previously made attempts to cross carpet.
Chief Samuel Ortom
A desperate Samuel Ortom,  hurriedly jumped at the opportunity to actualise his self - professed God sent mission. For his sake the party's primaries was postponed a day later to make space for his admission and proper behind the scene negotiations. Ortom a man known for his deep pocket is believed to have parted with a meagrely Seventy Million Naira to vouchsafe the party ticket.
Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Jime
Meanwhile, others like Hon.  Herman Hembe had also played part in the Akume party auction and consequently won against a female House of Assembly, aspirant,  Mrs. Dorathy Mato who was the preferred candidate in the kangaroo election held in his wife's hotel.
But like the biblical Judas Ischariot, Sen. Akume may not get the opportunity to spend these thirty bags of silver as his party will soon go extent or he may loose relevance.

Understanding Why Suswam Prefers Tarzoor

Terhemen Tarzoor,  Suswam's Anointed
Yesterday media reports were rife with news that Suswam had anointed former Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly Hon. Terhemen Tarzoor,  as his successor after the governor's eight years as governor.
The announcement which has caused so many ripples and confusion in the polity, is certainly one to raise eye brows as it seemed his body language changed in a bath of an eye. Many do not however know that the decision was not without ulterior motives.
It has been discovered that the gift of a governorship ticket is not just an anointing but one with deeper reasons.
Tarzoor who was disgraced out of office during his infamous sojourn as speaker for cheating and electoral malpractice, has all of a sudden become the favoured and anointed for obvious reasons.
It has been gathered that the governor's decision to ensure Terhemen Tarzoor is declared the party's flag bearer for the 2015 Elections is not unconnected to his desire to remain politically afloat and even retire at the senate.
It is common news that the president is finally deciding who goes to the Senate,  which is what has earned Tarzoor an unanticipated favour. Tarzoor who was disgraced out of office ran to Bayelsa where an army captain introduced him to the bunkering and also legal dredging business and subsequently to the defacto president of Nigeria,  Dame Patience Goodluck Jonathan which has become his meal ticket.
In the heat of the governor's desperation to get to Abuja by all means Terhemen Tarzoor granted him the needed link to the villa and thus is worth mortgaging nourishing future and that of generations yet unborn.
Thus theory has been given credence owing to the insistence by Suswam to turn in the ticket to Tarzoor even after knowing that the latter has a gun running case and even a cultism tag hanging on his neck. According to sources Tarzoor has become the prefer as he will be blackmailed using his a chilled heels- cultism and gun running to be put in check.
However, it is also peddled that the a choice of Tarzoor may just be another kite flying expedition to save his hide as the latter may not even scale security screening based on the a results from the state security agencies and as a result may have to give way to more crumble and character tested candidates.
Meanwhile the fie is cast as the candidature of Terhemen Tarzoor has put the leading governorship aspirants at logger heads with their party, having many to publicly declare their desire to jump ships in your the opposition if the candidacy of Tarzoor is upheld.

More Trouble for PDP as Ortom Set to Join APC

Suswam to fund his rival

Former Minister of State for Trade and Investment and supervising Minister of
Aviation,  Chief Samuel Ortom may within the week dump the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ),  for the All Progressives Congress ( APC ),  to further his political career.
Chief Ortom who has got the nod of his core supporters and campaign team after intimating them of his decision to jump ship to an alternative platform,  is said to be considering the APC where he also has a great amount of followership.
This decision which is not unconnected to his silent rivalry with the incumbent governor,  Gov. Gabriel Suswam,  who is obviously intimidated by the minister's mass acceptance,  will certainly create an irreplaceable dent in the followers hip of the PDP in the state for which Ortom has been a major stake holder.
An aide of the former minister who confirmed the rumour also stated that the minister's decision to leave the party may have been instructed by the president who is in close relations with Ortom.
He informed that although the former minister contemplated the matter, most of them have since advised him to move to any platform of his choice as advised by the powers that be.
However the news of his planned decamping is no longer secret as it has caused some unsettlement in the PDP and Suswam's can, please who as at last night had already began to seek strategies to frustrate the latter's chances of becoming the ADC'S flag bearer.
Suswam it is gathered has already sent emissaries to the President in order to inform and try to create bad blood between OOrtom and his former boss so as to curry favour aimed at gaining the president's support for his Senatorial ambition which Goodluck is said to be supporting Gemade.
A source close to Benue government house further disclosed that the state governor I  his desperation to kill the former national auditor of the PDP'S dream, has sent fore runners led by his personal assistant on Public Private Partnership,  to negotiate with a former PDP legislator who has decamped to the APC and is gunning for the nomination, with a proposal to financially support him in a bid to fight Ortom.
This news has not only unsettled Suswam and his camp but has also put smiles on some of the aspirants of the PDP who saw Ortom as a stumbling block to their hope for a ticket to represent the PDP.
One of such candidates is Dr. Eugene Aliegba accompanied the aide of a former Special Assistant to the governor, who also doubles as the defacto god father, who was seen driving through the streets of Makurdi,  from one party chieftain to another to an announce Ortom's decamping and further push forward his candidate since their only threat is about to leave for good.

Successor Tussle: Suswam's Camp in Disarray

*As Eugene Aliegba sponsors campaign of calumny against other aspirants

Gov. Gabriel Suswam
The battle to succeed the Benue state governor, Rt. Hon. Gabriel Suswam, has long began and may have reached its crescendo as intrigues and under hand tactics are now been employed by most contestants especially those acclaimed to be anointed by Suswam.
Before the infamous ward congresses that are threatening to tear the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ) apart, nearly all the candidates of the party especially those who were once in the employ of the state government,  claimed to have been drafted into the race by the governor. While little or nothing was done to debunk such claims, Suswam became the selling point of most candidates except for former Minister of State for Trade and Investment,  Chief Samuel Ortom,  who has since his entrance into the race been known to be out of favour with Suswam.
However most recently the dust has begun to settle and as the numbers of Suswam boys has gradually whittled down with many claiming independence due to since the hand writing on the wall has clearly proven that they are not anointed.
Mr. High Bem
Built Suswam's Ashi Polytechnic
Chief amongst them is Mr. High Bem,  who spent a fortune on the governor's elder brother, Chief Terkura Suswam and even built the Chief's Ashi polytechnic, all in a bid to curry favour, also tugging to Suswam's cloak was former permanent secretary Prince Andy Uwouku,  who was always eager to flaunt and trace his genealogy to the Suswam's Diaka dynasty, until his unfortunate fulani saga.
Unfortunately it now seems that it may be difficult after all for Suswam to chose and anoint a successor as those linked to him have already began mudslinging and blackmail to ruin each other's reputation. This trend is now popular among those now remaining as the inner three of Suswam's anointed; Rt. Hon. Terhemen Tarzoor, Bar. Ter Adum and Dr. Eugene Aliegba. This trio have most recently employed shenanigans aimed at running down each other and blackmailing one another with the aim to ruin the reputations of perceived contenders to Suswam's love.
Dr. Eugene Aliegba
Only recently makurdi, woke up to news of Tarzoor's membership of a notorious cult group which has tormented the state for a long while. He was not only associated with this group but posters and flyer have been circulated around town and drinking joints claiming that the cult groups in the state were threatening to cause mayhem if he wins in the elections.  This unfortunate news has however been linked to the Dr. Aliegba camp who have seen Tarzoor as the reason for their loss of favour from Suswam.
Only recently a source close to the Consolidation Secretariat said they had over heard the Aliegba team boast of running down any threat and have even engaged the services of certain journalists to malign those they identify as threats.
Aliegba and his campaign team are believed to be hitting at these contenders because they have all of a sudden been sidelined by the governor, who only last week gave standing orders that Aliegba and his promoters be barred from the government house.
Rt. Hon. Terhemen Tarzoor
Aliegba whose campaign is widely known to be enjoying the financial largesse of the Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs courtesy of the just sacked Special Adviser,  Prince Solomon Wombo,  is said to be fighting Tarzoor seems the latter has now become the beneficiary of that purse courtesy of Hon. Kester Kyenge,  who now sits on the allocation head and is secretly now channeling that which used to be Aliegba's to "the man wey sabi"(as Tarzoor is fondly called), through his younger brother, Torwua Kyenge who sits on Tarzoor's directorate.
It is however unclear how long this will continue, however what is obvious is that coupled with the recent declaration by the president stating that governor's interested  in going to the Senate will have to forfeit their opportunity to install a successor there is certainly going to be more drama and under hand play with below the belt punches featuring prominently.

Suswam: Two Accidents, one hospital Admission!

When the gods are angry with a man even his dog barks at him - African proverb

The African proverb that says "when the gods are angry with a man even his dog barks at him", may not just be a proverb after all.  Early noon today the Benue state governor,  Rt. Hon. Gabriel Suswam was involved in an auto crash where two cars on his entourage where badly damaged with reports saying  15 persons were critically injured.
The accident which occurred at angbaaye, a settlement just outside makurdi, is said to be the second of such incidents as a detail on the governor's convoy disclosed that they had a similar accident only last week in Abuja.

According to our source, the governor's security detail had ran into his principal's car when it uneventfully hit the brakes in the middle of traffic in Abuja.
This series of events have been linked to last week's slumping of the governor after sitting on a chair presented to him by a parish priest in Kwande, to symbolise the senate seat of Zone A.
It was gathered that the governor slumped after sitting on the majestic chair and was hurriedly rushed to Katsina-Ala where his personal physician managed the situation before he was hurriedly flown to Abuja where he was checked upon and no ailments were discovered.
These mysterious events have been linked by many to his plan to forcefully usurp the senate seat which traditionally belongs to the Kwande people but has been mischievously bought by him from a couple of renegade elders.
According to beliefs, the gods of Tiv land may have decided to turn a black eye towards him a and caused the wrath he now feels.
Proponents of this belief have queried why it was after the mock installation that he slumped and why of all cars on the convoy it is the one with a Kwande registration plate number was damaged most?

Exclusive: Untold Story of How Ortom Sacked Suswam's ADC

Gov. Gabriel Suswam
It came to many as a surprise, the news that Suswam's most trusted assistants and Aide de Camp (ADC), Dickson Pawa, resigned his duties as the governor's ADC. What many did not know is that involvement of a leading governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Samuel Ortom,  in the drama that led to this resignation.
All though news making the rounds have it that Pawa had resigned to make time to pursue personal and family engagements, however investigations reveal that the former ADC was forced to resign by his former boss due to disagreement between him and his boss, involving Chief Ortom.
It has been gathered his fallout with Suswam arouse from the security details support for Chief Ortom's candidature whom Gov. Suswam has many times openly expressed his unwillingness to support or even hand over.
Chief Samuel Ortom
Even though the reason for the governor's decision not to back Ortom may not be known it is however gathered that he has severally confronted Papa to drop his support for the former minister and chose amongst his anointed ones like Hon. Terhemen Tarzoor,  Bar. Alex Adam or Dr. Eugene Aliegba.
Unfortunately these series of caution fell on deaf ears as it led to the series of events events that led to Suswam demanding Pawa's resignation. Our investigations reveal that since Ortom was not Suswam's favourite for the position, he was severally put on the screened list so as to deny him audience with the governor,  however Pawa was reported to flaunt these orders by granting the former national auditor of the PDP, passage and indeed access to his principal.
A case mentioned by our source revealed narrates that Suswam had planned to avoid Ortom last two weeks ago and thus placed an embargo on allowing him enter the government house however, Pawa radio message allowing the former minister thorough fare and to Suswam's surprise Ortom arrived the government house that morning spotting a white sneaker and grey T-shirt.
Also mentioned our source said, on the day of local government primaries,  when the governor was sneaking to Abuja giving instructions to ensure the journey was discreet, unfortunately Ortom was seen waiting for the governor at the airport, which caused Suswam to flare up and voice his loss of trust for Pawa, thus asking for his resignation.
Meanwhile, Pawa has been fingered to be contesting for the chairmanship of Katsina-Ala local government,  which it is also alleged to have hit brick walls as Suswam is said to be supporting the former ADC's closest rival to the seat, Hon. Terfa Abur.
According to our source, this support for Abur also was why Pawa had abandoned his principal on the day of the ward congresses in Logo and took off to Katsina-Ala to ensure his slot was assured. This incident also met Suswam's disapproval.

Eight Months On: Benue primary schools remain shut
Gov. Gabriel Suswam
Worse than the activities of the Boko Haram group, an eight-month old strike action by primary school teachers in Benue State is doing great damage to the future of education not just in the state, but Nigeria at large. Johnson Babajide reports
As primary and post primary schools in the country resume the last lap of 2013/2014 academic session, there is no hope for public primary schools in Benue State as the teachers continue their indefinite strike action embarked upon about eight months ago.
Investigation conducted by Tribune Education revealed that government is yet to meet the demands of the striking teachers who are demanding the implementation of minimum wage.
Consequently, a group under the aegis of Network of Concerned Parents(NCP) has accused the state government of  insensitivity to the plight of the out of school pupils  of the state.
According to a statement issued recently and made available to the Tribune Education in Makurdi, the acting chairman of the group, Mr John Aondugu said “the prolong industrial action by the aggrieved teachers was taking its toll on the lives of innocent children in public primary schools in the state.
The group decried the failure of government and the striking teachers to come to  a compromise in the lingering dispute stressing that “this goes a long way to show that our leaders have suddenly forgotten the responsibilities they owe the upcoming generation of our state.’
“It is inexcusable for a government to shut down primary schools for close to seven months over disputes with teachers and we are all carrying on as if all is well with our state.”
“It is a clear demonstration of arrogance, and outright insensitivity to the plight of our children and wards who have been at the receiving end of this show of strength by the government,” he said.
Wombo Solomon
Speaking on the protracted strike, the Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Solomon Wombo said that the state government does not  have the financial capacity to meet the demands of the striking teachers.
He told newsmen that for government to implement the minimum wage to  the 29, 000 primary school teachers as demanded would amount to borrowing to run government, stressing that the wage bill of (NULGE) if added to the demand of the teachers the wage bill is over N4billion monthly while he hinted that the average revenue accrued to local government from federation account monthly stands at a little over N3billion.
According to him, ‘there is no way we can implement the minimum wage to primary school teachers because of our lean resources, when we computed the wage bill of striking primary school teachers based on minimum wage, it amounted to N2.2 billion and if we are to add this to salary of local government workers which stand at N1.9 billion that means we will be talking  of N4billion and above, whereas what is accrued to local government council areas in the state from federation account is on the average of N3.4 billion monthly’.
“So where do you expect us to make up for the difference, we have tried our best by adding something to their salary yet they rejected it, as I am talking to you now, the primary school teachers salary is deposited in the bank, anytime they are ready to resume, we will pay them all the arrears.
“At the advent of this administration, government increased teachers’ salaries by 40 per cent and we also went ahead to pay them 27.5 per cent increment in salaries which brought their wage bill to N1.1billion and any further increment will double that figure.”
Wombo assured that the state government was exploring every avenue to ensure that the strike was called off.
The state government in addressing the issue once told newsmen of its plan to review downward the salary of civil servants in the state so as to accommodate the demands of the primary school teachers.
Governor Gabriel Suswam who disclosed this to newsmen stated that his administration was coerced in implementing the new minimum wage to civil servants which he described as the highest in the country, adding that, “at that time we were also having excess crude oil money, so we thought that the situation will continue like that, hence, the approval for that huge minimum wage.
“For instance, a director receiving N50,000.00 was moved to N150,000 while permanent secretary earning N150,000.00 was jerked up to N400,000.00, adding that with the primary school teachers insisting on full implementation of minimum wage so that they can be at par with civil servants in the state, the best option for us is to review the salary of civil servants downward to be able to accommodate primary school teachers”.
Consequently, the state government set up a committee made up of directors to fine tune the appropriate salary structure to workers in the state.
But Tribune Education reliably gathered that the government’s plan is receiving resistance from labour as they have told the governor not to attempt reducing the workers’ salaries or he incurs the wrath of workers in the state.
State chairman of Nigeria Union of Teachers, Comrade Godwin Anya who spoke to Education Tribune on phone on Tuesday said that his members would remain at home until government meets their demands.
When asked of the plight of the pupils considering the fact that they have stayed for eight months at home, Anya said, “it is not the number of months on strike that is important but to ensure that their demands are met”, adding that “inasmuch as they are concerned about the future of the pupils, we will not compromise our demand”.
He told Tribune Education that labour union in the state had also waded into the matter, but stressed that the new development of slashing workers’ salaries to accommodate primary school teachers which has met resistance from labour  has stalemated the meeting with the state government. As things stand now, the possibility of primary schools’ pupils resuming academic activities in the state this third term is slim.

BEFORE WE MAKE ANOTHER MISTAKE!!!

Eugene Aliegba
After my last post the resolve to continue the fight against lootery and second class leadership was strengthened because of the number of messages and emails from those who read these essays. Most of them were not what to term as savoury and complementary, however they were expected. Worthy to thank those who have supported our cause. Surprised to find volunteers who have decided upon themselves to furnish us information about these no gooders who have vowed to lord over us forever. We are ever grateful.
However the journey, its peril and gains are not the focal point of this expose but our desire to always educate the Benue youth whom we have vowed to stand by in our struggle enthrone competent leadership.
This is no witch hunt, neither is it aimed at blackmailing and tarnishing images. However it is high time we are made accountable for our actions and even inactions.
I have also noticed that many of those mentioned and will be mentioned have friends and hired pens and guns amongst the youth, spare us if your ox is gored. My last two subjects may have not taken the criticisms well and incited reactions and insults however we are not deterred.
At this junction we move to ask those who have antagonized every writing accredited to Benue League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (BLXG) and even called the league a phony group to tell us where we lied.
Is it a lie that John Timbee Tondo is a land grabber? Did we lie when we said he is costing the state a fortune on legal battles? Were we wrong when we said he doles out parcels of land as gifts to loyalists and his girlfriends/lays? On the whole, we ask if we were wrong to declare him corrupt, ill prepared and unfit to rule Benue?
Solomon Wombo
For you who criticized us for exposing the Wombo-Aliegba lootery ring and its plan to continue beyond 2015, did we lie? Did Aliegba not declare free for all fuel in Makurdi? Was the money from his 200 000 Naira a month commissioner salary or lecturer pay (remember he is acclaimed for drawing double salaries)? Did we lie when we declared him a failure in all ministries he handled? Could we be pointed to one he made any giant strides at?
I beg to ask also, who instigated the attack on Prince Simon Aondoana, a frontline gubernatorial contender? Sure tha answers are not far from Eugene’s homestead!
As it stand we now promise further that we shall not rest on our oars until mediocrity is gotten rid of and these two and a host of others whom some good Samaritans have submitted good information which are trying to verify, will face the court of public scrutiny. We may not have the power to imprison but we shall do our lot by exposing them and their cohorts.
Meanwhile, stay back and watch this space as we bring you details of how John Tondo instigated the settler/ visitor crisis in agboughl village, Makurdi; Details of why the proposed mega shopping complex (SHOPRITE) is yet to take off and details of his ministry's legal tussles.
John Tondo
You will also soon learn of Eugene Aliegba's irresponsibility as lecturer in Benue State University, his money hungry antics as lecturer and Dean Student Affairs. Surely his performance score card in all ministries he nearly ran aground and how his benefactor is, getting funds to facilitate their sinister plot.
Never again shall we be ruled by irresponsible leadership!
We use this medium to thank our newest members of the league, Emmanuel Adamu, Enenche Udeh and Iorwuese Jov. You can always reach us on our blog interface here http://blxg.blogspot.com or send a private mail to uhurutakeover@gmail.com or reach the blog admin and spokesman viamelvinagabs@gmail.com

WHY ALIEGBA CANNOT RULE BENUE STATE

Dr. Eugene Tarkende Aliegba
WHY ALIEGBA CANNOT RULE BENUE STATE

Recent happenings concerning the spending spree and monetary recklessness by one of the Gubernatorial intendees to the Benue state government House has began to raise questions as to the source of such monies being flagrantly spent with reckless abandon.

Dr. Eugene Tarkende Aliegba has all of a sudden become a Father Christmas of some sort as after his exit from office based on a marching order from the state governor instructing all political and public servants in his administration to resign before contesting the forth coming polls, spending millions of naira on frivolities.

Information has it that only recently Aliegba had donated cars to youth whom he claimed were his youth coordinators but on closer look it was discovered that these coordinators were actually recruited for “arm jobs”, to bully and intimidate any opposing force to his bid.

Aliegba who before his recent financial form could hardly purchase a three bedroom in even the shanties of Makurdi is now in constant practice of declaring free-of-charge fuel and kerosene to anyone that cares to drink from his ocean of mysteriously discovered wealth ranging from one to ten litres.

It was recently gathered that the State governor, Gabriel Suswam, irked by this flagrant show of financial unruliness had summoned the former commissioner to his abode where he had warned him of continuous irresponsible show of affluence under the guise of politics.

Even as this may seem mysterious as to the source of such massive wealth, it is no longer news that the former university don is heavily backed by Local government funds courtesy of the Special Adviser Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Solomon Wombo who is the sole financier of the Eugene Aliegba project.

This is an open secret as Wombo has even detailed his Personal Assistant, Hon. Job Tseagh to lead the campaign team which has just concluded a tour of all the 23 local governments of the stat, where they spent millions of tax payers money on traditional rulers and thugs in a bid to sell Aliegba’s candidature. Job has not hidden his boss’ association to the project as whenever he is encountered with questions concerning the governorship of the state he proudly in plural terms says “we are supporting our man, Aliegba” to continue the good works Governor Gabriel Suswam.

In the light of this it is disgusting that the office of the Special Adviser Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, has become the conduit pipe for siphoning of Benue’s common wealth to fund a ego fueled, financially
Prince Solomon Wombo
irresponsible campaign. This is even as the Bureau which has been tasked with local government administration, overlooking primary schools in the state has kept primary school techers at home for nearly 9 months under the excuse of lack of funds to pay the agreed minimum wage rate, while millions go to a lost cause!

We have gathered that Mr. Solomon Wombo in his capacity as office of the Special Adviser Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, has consistently deducted the whopping sum of Ten million naira each from the funds allocated to the respective twenty three (23) Local Governments in the State monthly. This has amounted to a staggering Two billion, three hundred million naira (# 2,300,000,000.00) for the period of our review between January and October 2013 solely for this purpose of planting the next governor of Benue state.

The Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has surreptitiously relieved over One thousand Civil Servants of their jobs under the guise of limited funds to cater for their wages, however it remains very glaring for all to see that the wages being authorized have only been stored and now used to mock our sensibilities.

It will only be apt to say inform that after years of grappling in the dark it is rather unfortunate that the glimmer of light perceived to have appeared is soon to be put off by a looting lot who mean no good for us.

Also pertinent to ask is the question, do we want a looting governor to look after our wealth as a state? Where does wombo fall in all this equation if Aliegba finally wins? Won’t he be the pockets behind our treasury?

THE NEED TO CALL BENUE LAND COMMISSIONER TO ORDER

THE NEED TO CALL BENUE LAND COMMISSIONER TO ORDER
A press statement by Benue League of Extraordinary Gentlemen on the need to Caution Hon. John Tondo over his land grabbing and mismanagement of the Land Ministry

PREAMBLE

1.                 Ladies and gentlemen of the press, it is with great joy, I receive you to this interface this day due to our respect of your partnership and devotion to the betterment of our dear Benue State.

2.       This statement has become quite expedient owing to the recent turn of events at the Benue State Ministry or Lands and Survey, where every land affair has taken a tupsy turvy trend aimed for a total collapse of our land administration system.

3.              Since the unfortunate resumption of duties at the ministry by Hon. John Tondo as commissioner it is knowledge in the public sphere that the disputes pertaining land acquisition have increased tremendously just as land pertaining communal issues.
4.              Most recently we are aware of the commissioner’s new gift package of juicy plots of land which have been seized or commandeered by his ministry and doled out to young girls and politicians as gifts.
5.              Also much to our disdain is the young commissioner’s insatiable quest to court trouble at all cost. It is no longer news that the proposed site for the construction of a shopping mall (SHOPRITE) has become an issue of controversy as the said commissioner had allocated land belonging to a prominent family in Benue after he had actually clandestinely acquired a piece of that for himself. This matter has already become an issue of meetings and settlements.
6.              He as constantly under the guise of town planning decided to confiscate lands belonging to well meaning Benue sons and daughters, including political threats , business men and even the religious converting them to his gift packages not minding the outcome such acts.
7.              We also are surprised as to the commissioner’s decision to jettison the Benue Geographical Information System project initiated by the former commissioner. This act we view as mischievous attempt to acquire land and not account for such as with this module as seen in order place where it has been put in place, can give land owners access to the status of their property.
8.       As youth concerned about our tomorrow, about a better Benue state we have been irked by this impending crash of administration in the ministry and have decided to state as follows:
a.     John Tondo desists from his popular land grabbing attitude and returns all lands to their original owners.
b.    That all who have paid his exorbitant C of O fees be given their certificates and taken to the said layout for acquisition of such lands.
c.      That the abandoned Benue Geographical Information System be relooked into with the aim of actualising this great developmental initiative.
d.    That the price per square meter as hiked by John Tondo for the payment of C of O be reviewed with immediate effect.

Long Live Benue League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
Long Live Benue State
Long Live Federal Republic of Nigeria
