Stop Raising Unnecessary Allegations- Youth Group to Mark

Former senate President, David Mark has been advised to raising unnecessary allegations as a result of his evident loss in the forthcoming senatorial rerun elections in the Benue South Senatorial district

This call was made by the Nigerians in Diaspora Monitoring Group over his recent outburst claiming threat to life by the Benue State Deputy Governor.

The group has described the call as laughable as according to them, the former Senate President is the one known for perpetuating violence in the zone even as he has already employed thugs and cultists to threaten the people ahead of the rerun election.

Speaking for the group Comrade Philip Agbese said for anyone to believe Mark’s claimed position about violence he should first and foremost “tell his campaign chiefs who are cultists to renounce their association with these groups to prove to the world that he is truly scared of the happenings”.

“It is however hilarious and comical for the man who houses lions and tigers to suddenly become scared of mere dogs. This character of David Mark once held the whole Idoma nation to the jugular with the aid of unscrupulous elements within the state and their connivance with those Vikings from University of Jos and Black Axe in Makurdi”.  He said.

According to him, Mark’s recent outburst is stemmed from his fear of Senator George Akume whom he has severally mouthed and not Comrade Okpokwu Ogenyi who coordinates the media team of Dan Onjeh against well paid hirelings David Mark’s campaign organization.

He further threatened that if the former Senate President in anyway perpetuates his evil plans towards Ogenyi in any vein either directly or indirectly,  he would be made a scape goat to perpetrators of electoral violence in Benue State in particular and Nigeria in general.

The group has therefore declared that Idoma people are happy with the manifesto of Dan Onjeh as being propagated by Ogenyi and have resolved to cast their vote for Onjeh come February 20 and added that no amount of threat or intimidation will stop the people from exercising their franchise on that day.

Re: What has David Mark Done for His people?

…What Has Idoma Not Done for David Mark

By Comrade Okpokwu Ogenyi

The article, titled “What has David Mark Done for His People?” must have been published by overzealous hangers on without input or clearance from erstwhile Senator representing Benue South, David Bonaventure Alechenu Mark, ostensibly to curry favour and make some quick ‘chop’ change from their boss, whom they must have rightly or wrongly surmised is caught between a rock and hard place.

The write up, which sought to highlight David Mark’s achievements in the sixteen years he sat in the Senate, clearly fell short of the sense of
importance that the former Senator exudes. Call it megalomania, the choice is yours. The David Mark they failed to project is the one you meet and go away with the impression that he gave birth to every Idoma person alive.

David Mark enjoys deluding himself about how no Idoma man has ever become anything without his input. The spin his minions are churning out, without him bothering to set the record straight, chronicle how David Attah was appointed Chief Press Secretary to late General Sani Abacha; how he made Lawrence Onoja, Ernest Attah, JIP Ubah and others as military governor from exile; how he created Apa state; how he gave birth to the Director General of Dan Onjeh's campaign, Barrister John Ochoga and paid his school fees too; how he made even people outside Idoma land whatever or whoever they currently are; and the litany of names of every individual from Idomaland who got one appointment or the other into one board or the other position as his achievements is endless.

Matthias Oyigeya, one of the so called beneficiaries of Mark's benevolence alleged to have been appointed as Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre, FMC Makurdi has unequivocally come out to distance himself from that compilation. Same goes for Professor Yakubu Ochefu, who was nominated to the National Confab in recognition of his individual sacrifice and contributions to nation building. These minions should go a step further to tell us what they did for Matthias Oyigeya.

The list has become the key plank of Mark’s bid to stand for election for the first time in Benue South, having become addicted to repeated manipulation of the electoral process and truncating the people’s will and mandate. This why the likes of Oyigeya and Ochefu are being branded as ungrateful for denying the veracity of the list of supposed beneficiaries of Mark’s hegemonic rule in Idomaland.
The kind of bravery that will make a man declare himself a god among a people can only be the product of when, on account of being in pursuit of the collective good, the people opt to pursue the path of peace even in the face of a pillage that is spanning about two decades or more. Now that the scales have fallen off the narrative has to change, the records have to be set straight.

As right thinking people, when we ponder what David Mark has done for Idoma we  must also look at what Idoma has not done for David Mark.
For instance, to cover the collective shame of the Idoma nation, we kept quiet when his proxy, former Minister of Interior, Abba Moro brought opprobrium on us by way of his greed that killed several Nigerian job seekers after extorting hundreds of thousands of hapless unemployed youths. But the deaths from that show of shame pale in significance when viewed against the daily carnage from a killer his criminal squad made up of proud cultists and armed robbers that have killed many of us at home.

Against our better judgment, we applauded the phony scholarships that he touts around annually. What Nigerians know is that a federal lawmaker gives scholarships to his constituents but what Idoma know that he has made so much money by selling forms to prospective beneficiaries and in turn distributes about 20 per cent to selected students as beneficiaries. The toll collected from applicants is further supplemented with forced contributions from local government chairmen. So he actually makes over 80 percent mark-up from this yearly lottery. Yet we accept without questions.

The entire roads contracts he attracted to the area were awarded to his brother and family members. After collecting full mobilization they convert same to their personal use and no one gets to talk about it. Mark is comfortable for things to remain in their current condition in that state because it is from there he gets another racket into the budget for more private performance.
We gullibly mobilized crowds for his photo ops to lend some sense of relevance and seriousness to the famed creation of Apa state. Even we discovered Idoma have been scammed by Mark’s greatest achievement of creating an Apa State we kept quiet to protect our own. We did not kick when we found out that the ruckus over Apa state was to create a legitimate conduit for him and fellow legislooters in the National Assembly to enrich themselves.

The so called Mark D Ball, the annual basketball fiesta organized annually by his younger brother and Personal Assistant has always been sponsored by contractors and Paraststals in Abuja at the expense of oversight function that should have been a primary focus for a lawmaker. Yet, we covered our own, we kept quiet.
His annual golf tournament has always been sponsored by Otukpo Local Goverment, where his son in-law had made a permanent stool for himself. Should the Idoma people dare to demand for accountability from Dr Innocent Onuh, the royal son in-law and Blessing Onuh, erstwhile social development secretary in Abuja, Olisa Metuh and his Kuje prison experience would become child’s play.

In listing his achievements, Mark forgot to mention the nylon tarred express road that passes through his house. For the non-Idoma that help the former Senator beat drums of propaganda, a visit to Otukpo, the modern day Dubai of Nigeria would reveal definitely what Idoma has not done for David Mark.
The man forgot to mention how he came back from exile without shoes yet rode on the magnanimity of the people to feather his own next for sixteen years in the Senate. In those years, he failed not just his constituents but also sabotaged Nigeria as the armsgate scandal happened under his very nose without oversight intervention. It now to our eternal shame that a man who under the guise of representing us allowed innocent people to die because he watched idly while money meant for fighting insurgency was shared.
What we will not do for him this time around is to allow him return to the National Assembly to chair the Senate Committee on Observation, a position he actively held before the court, in recognition of his presence there being a fraud on account of a flawed election sent him packing. What David Bonaventure Alechenu Mark should do for Idoma this time around is to allow us express ourselves at the ballot and that is if he continues to ignore the calls by those who love him to throw in the towel before the final disgrace.

Benue South Senatorial Re-run : PDP Goes Spiritual

As days edge closer to the senatorial rerun in Benue South, the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ), in Benue state may have resorted to spiritual means in a bid to ensure minimal decamping of their members.

The party which has lost many big wigs in the last weeks including Former Deputy G
overnor, Steven Lawani, Ministers including Former Minister of state for Niger Delta, Sam Ode and a host of others, may have decided to include traditional oath taking to ensure its members do not leave the party.

The okija shrine saga style was enacted recently during the decamping ceremony  of members of the APC to PDP in Edikwu Icho Apa lga  Benue State.

The ceremony as reported by one of the party's staunch supporter, James oche, on facebook witnessed the alleged decampees dressed in masquarade regalia donning the PDP colours after taking oath of allegiance.

Breaking: David Mark Might join APC at Zone C Grand Rally

By Sunday Ogola

Baring any last minute overture, the former strong man of Zone C, Senator David Mark will officially decamp at a grand rally for his closest rival, Comrade Dan Onjeh at Otukpo today.

Close sources to both camps have confirmed to our correspondent that Mark has been buttering since the arrival of the APC national Chairman in Otukpo, and has resolved to join the progressives in order to save himself of any embarrassment.

His most trusted ally, Ahubi Mark is said to have move round top APC Chieftains in a vigil that lasted till early hours of the day to mobilize all the leaders to welcome him without any hitch.

However, some leaders of the party in Zone C who pleaded anonymity said the APC will not tolerate the excesses of David Mark in APC and he should be told in clear terms before tearing his umbrella into pieces.

According to them, the party is a home of equal rights and undiluted loyalty to Governor Samuel Ortom and Senator George Akume and any individual that is not ready to learn the tight robes of their leadership should not waste his or her time coming in at the first instance.

The media officers of both camps were not ready to speak at  press time, but Chief Simeon Okoko who recalled how Chief Mike Onoja stepped down for David Mark recently hinted that it is in line with the principle of 'if you can't beat them, you join them', no one should be celebrate or be saddened by the development because it is all for the good of Idoma land he added.

Young Alhaji Can't Succeed Mark- Morro

A crack in the 3once enviable relationship between former Senate President David Mark and Former Interior Minister, Comrade Abba Morro may have emerged due to recent romance and alleged decision to handover the Senate Position in 2020 to Alh. Usman Abubakar also known as Young Alhaji.
According to sources close to the former Minister, Comr. Morro has decided to relax his contribution and activities in the ongoing Benue South Senatorial rerun Campaigns in favour of Senator David Mark due to his disappointment in the former’s recent succesorship comments.
Our source who is a close aide of the former minister toldBenue Post that his boss had confronted the former senate president over the rumour of his endorsement of Young Alhaji as his successor to which the later retorted with that,  it was his decision to make and no one had the right to dictate for him who best suits the position.
He further informed that, the discussion which degenerated into a shouting contest, saw Morro vow to destroy everything Mark had worked for since he was not appreciated while the former senate president has vowed to reawaken Morro’s gun running and also use all tools in his disposal to ensure the case against the former interior minister aty the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Meanwhile official statements are yet to be heard from both quarters even as there is rumour rife in the senatorial district of David Mark’s Decision to relinquish his seat to his former rival, Usman Abubakar.e known as Young Alhaji, who hasopenly declared his support for his once political rival, Mark against his own Orokam kinsman, Daniel Onjeh.

No Igede Man Will Vote David Mark - Igede Youth Mandate

All may not be well for former Senate President David Mark, as there has continued to be agitations opposing his return to the Senate.

A Socio-Political Organisation, Igede Youth Mandate, has vowed that no Igede man will vote the former senate president who they said has nothing in store for the senatorial district, describing him as “an epitome of marginalisation and dishonesty”.
Senator  David Mark

The group led by their National President, Comrade Linus Eru made this resolve during a congress meeting which held at the Government Secondary School Ikachi, in Oju Local Government. He said the Igede tribe had suffered marginalisation in the hands of the just ousted senator and will not desire to go through the same ordeal again.

He said, “It will be a big lie if anyone tells you that a true Igede son or daughter will vote for Mark again. We have suffered too long in his hands even though we never voted for him. What has the Igede nation got for his 16 years in Abuja? We cannot go back to Egypt”.

Comrade Eru described the court decision as a message from God to inform the former senator that it is the end of the road for him, as the advent of card readers will no longer make it business as usual where intimidation and rigging were the order of the day.

According to him the Igede nation were solidly behind the candidacy of Daniel Onjeh who they said has shown a high level of bravery and commitment to deliver the Benue South Senatorial District from the draconian rule of Mark, a feat which even elders feared to dare.

Senator David Mark is billed to face Comrade Daniel Onjeh in a Senatorial rerun election in February next year.

Senator David Mark's Homeland "Grand Entrance" Ends in Chaos

•Spends N75 million on hired crowd

By Gabriel Ochoga

It's no news that former Senate President and ousted Senator representing Benue South senatorial district, yesterday made a grand entrance into Otukpo, the ancestral home of the Idoma people.

Sen. Mark who was received by a huge crowd assembled from party supporters across that state, made his way through the ancient town to the palace of the Och’Idoma, the tradition ruler of Idoma people where he was warmly received.

Trouble however broke out when some of the youths who have come from the various local governments were denied the stipend they were promised after it was rumoured that five-time Senator had release a whooping some of N75 million for that purpose.

The leader of the Idoma Coalition For Mark, Comrade Adah Ocholi who was embittered by the development said he brought 58 of his members to welcome the Senator only to be given N5,000 only.
"What will I do with 5,000 Naira. We came 58 of us and this is all we got. This is not a good thing at all." he said.

It was later revealed that some of the Coordinators had made away with huge sums of the largesse at the detriment of the youths. Some of the supporters who came as far as Makurdi, Gboko and Katsina-Ala had to be transported back by the politicians that accompanied them.

Senator David Mark is gearing up to face APCs Comrade Daniel Onjeh in a rerun elections in February next year after his victory at this year's poll was annulled at the court of appeal.
